Save Our Warehouse in Salt Lake!
Wasatch Roller Derby was started in 2008 by Honey Delunatic and Medusa Damage to bring the sport of competitive roller derby to Salt Lake City. They aimed to provide a fun and encouraging environment that promoted athleticism while also striving to make an impact amongst smaller charities in Salt Lake City. From two skaters, the Wasatch family has grown to over 100, supporting a nationally ranked Division 1 travel team, three home teams, a recreational league, a men’s league and a thriving junior’s team. Additionally, thousands of dollars raised during Roller Derby Games and fundraisers have been given back to local charities over the last six years.
The Current Outlook:
After six years of providing leadership and hard work, Honey and Medusa have decided that they are ready for the next chapter in their life and are retiring from roller derby. This means that we as a league are stepping up to chart a new course and save our beloved Derby Depot home. We are really excited for the future and to share the plans that we have with you!
Wasatch Roller Derby hosted the third WFTDA D1 International Playoff Tournament in October. Many thanks to all those who participated, volunteered and attended this event! Best of luck to all those teams moving on to Championships!!
